Australia and Comissions

I thought it was about time I wrote a bit about this mysterious 'charity work' I've talked to some people about. It's going to be taking up time over the next year and a bit, and I'm going to need a lot of help from wherever I can get it. *puppy eyes*

The name of the project I'm working on is called "The Oz Experience", and it's set up by a children's cancer charity called The Joshua Foundation. What makes The Joshua Foundation different is that they raise money to give life-changing opportunities to children who may have their days numbered. I've been told the Make A Wish foundation has a similar goal; it really is something special and valuable to the child's family in what can be a distressing time.

But onto the project itself: The Oz Experience is a two-week expedition to Australia, done by several groups of 16-18 year olds across the United Kingdom. We travel out there toward the end of June, have a few days to relax, before traveling to the conservation area where we'll work for our two weeks. Past groups have worked at koala bear reserves, helped maintain Australia's awesome natural landscape, and plenty of other stuff (which you can read about at the site for CVA, the group that organizes the work).
Toward the end of the trip, the groups take part in a climb of the Sydney Harbor Bridge (yelp), before a final day for goodbyes and traveling homeward.

So whatsa wuff doing? Right now he's in the process of planning a sponsored walk in his area, but other than that, he's panicking a little for ideas. I'll get there, but I'd loooove to hear any suggestions, no matter how oddball. Fundraising is a new gig for me, and it's tough! But for now...

As a trickler, I've decided to open for commissions in general over the next year. My art has slowed a lot recently, but I'll be trying to crank out some personal art that's polished so people have an idea of what I do.
So without further ado, here's how commissions are done, in more detail than you'd ever need to know.

This is my creative process, if you were to ask for a commission:

  • You give me the idea, and I'll go back and forth just juggling ideas, until we agree on something to get started with.
  • I'll do some sorting of my own: practice drawing new characters, generally doodle about, before doing some simple sketches.
  • Once we reach a sketch that you like, I'll make a 'clean' version of it and make sure that's good with you.
  • If you asked for it coloured, I'll begin work on that, though at this stage I need to know what size you want the final piece (if you want it printed). Colouring is a long process, so how often I show you progress depends on how often you poke me, pretty much.
I only do digital colouring! Right now, anyway.
  • If you want the physical thing, I'll ask what media you want it on (plain paper, glossy/matte/satin photo paper, fine art paper), and run print tests to make sure it's perfect.

It is at this stage, and only this stage, at which I will ask you about price.
My pricing will essentially be based on the postage price + a base price I'll give based on how much wuff-hours I've put into it + whatever you suggest. Chances are I'll give a low price, because I'm talking about base-cost here; I'm not including my ego into the price, just straight up materials and hours.

For my artwork, keep an eye on my FA account, and hopefully I'll have some good examples in the coming weeks.

Take care! And thanks for reading!

Clearing Out

While collecting together all my old videos for a jumble sale. I came across Fantasia 2000. For a sequel it's pretty darn good, and is what introduced me to Gershwin's music, who is one of my favourite composers.

Here's one of my favourites from the Fantasia 2000:

They cut out the introduction to it which is a shame, but better than nothing!

Have a fun weekend everyone :]

Well, it's gotten to the point where I'm gonna take a day off school. Been coughing up my guts all week, and it isn't getting much better...

I might be online, but chances are I'll be poking around from bed, meaning I can't really type. Sorry guys óò

Can phone or skype if you like, just keep in mind I'll probably be coughing up a storm.

*curls up in bed with his plushes*

Take care everyone!

A few days off

Heya guys,
Just wanted to let everyone know, I'm going to be really cutting back on my online time for the rest of this week, and maybe generally, until I get a handle on my schoolwork.
I've been putting work off all week and then feeling rather crappy about it, which is why I haven't been a bouncywuff lately. *outta hoppity*

So yeah, I won't be around much this week, sorry guys... I'm not trying to put you all aside, it's just my laziness coming to chomp me on the butt, so sorry again. If you have a wuff's phone number then you're welcome to call, assuming I can answer. :]

Hope you all have a better week than I'm having, I'll be back up there soon enough.

Take care! *snugs and nuzzles* Will

Wuff will be headed to this weekend's LondonFur meet, so if you're around, tell me. :D

The meet is held at City Golf Bar in Blackfriars, and starts at noon. If you need help getting there, I can walk you over from the local tube station (I think, it's my first time too, but I has a map!) *giggles*

As for now, back to school tomorrow, boo. x.x

By the way, watch this! *wags* As seen on hopper's LJ.

Take care!
